On March 10, COSCO SHIPPING Holdings collaborated with the Hong Kong Seaport Allianceto complete Hong Kong’s first simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), in which green methanol bunkering and cargo handling was carried out at the same time.
The core vessel involved in the operation —MV COSCO SHIPPING GEMINI — has a carrying capacity of over 20,000 TEUs and is fitted with an advanced methanol dual-fuel propulsion system, enabling flexible switching between conventional fuel and green methanol to effectively reduce total carbon emissions during thevoyage. During the operation, the vessel utilized a ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering mode, completing both bunkering and cargo operations in just five hours. This significantly reduced the vessel's port stay duration and optimized operational costs, fully demonstrating the Company's professional expertise in refined shipping operations management.
