The Convention between Carriers and Ports for OCEAN Alliance 2026 Opens in Boao, Hainan
On January 21, 2026, the Convention between Carriers and Ports for OCEAN Alliance 2026 was successfully held in Boao, Hainan, marking the tenth anniversary of the Alliance’s establishment. Under the theme “Powered by supply chain synergy, Together for a broad vision”, the Convention aimed to pool global port and shipping wisdom, deepen industrial chain collaboration, and jointly explore new frontiers for the blue economy. During the convention, the Boao Declaration 2026 and the OCEAN Alliance DAY10 Service were officially released.
Yang Guoqiang, Vice Governor of Hainan Province; Xu Zuyuan and He Jianzhong, former Vice Ministers of Transport of the People’s Republic of China; Xu Lirong, Chairman of China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association; Gu Jinshan, President of the China Ports & Harbours Association; Zhu Bixin, Director of the Board and President of COSCO SHIPPING; Lin Ji , Zhang Feng , Li Wei , Executive Vice Presidents of COSCO SHIPPING, attended the convention along with representatives from OCEAN Alliance member companies, global port and shipping professionals, key supply chain partners, leading industry experts and scholars.
OCEAN Alliance has consistently adhered to a philosophy of openness, inclusiveness, and collaborative win-win development since its establishment, working hand in hand with global partners to counter market uncertainties with the certainty of cooperation. At this year’s convention, OCEAN Alliance reviewed the 10-year cooperation journey of navigating the profound changes in the global supply chain and tackling challenges amid the wave of industrial restructuring. It also grandly launched the DAY10 Service.
The convention featured parallel sessions including the Seminar on Port-Shipping Cooperative Ecosystem, the Seminar on High-Quality Development of Intra-China Container Shipping, and the Key Account Conference. Grounded in a decade of collaborative achievements, participants and delegates examined approaches to collectively respond to industry transformation and build a new port-shipping ecosystem, strengthening the sector's role in supporting the smooth and efficient operations of global industrial and supply chains.
