On 8 May 2026, COSCO SHIPPING Holdings Co., Ltd. (“COSCO SHIPPING Holdings”) officially named its first 24,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessel as MV OOCL Wisdomat the naming ceremony held in Nantong. Built by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (“NACKS”), the vessel is also the first methanol dual-fuel container ship operated by Orient Overseas Container Line (“OOCL”), a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Holdings.
With a maximum capacity of 24,168 TEUs and stretching 399.99 meters in length and 61.3 meters in width, MV OOCLWisdom will be deployed on the Company’s Far East–Northwest Europe routes. All main engines, auxiliary engines and boilers are equipped with methanol dual‑fuel systems. Boasting four methanol fuel tanks with total capacity of 14,300 cubic meters, the vessel is currently the world’s largest methanol dual-fuel containership and can complete a one-way voyage without refueling stops.With the support of advanced energy-efficiency management, intelligent monitoring and safety assurance systems, it incorporates the features of environmental sustainability, digital intelligence and high energy efficiency, thereby enabling the Company to deliver end-to-end green and low-carbon supply chain solutions for customers worldwide. Through the deployment of multi-tier green fleet, the Company further strengthens the competitive edges of east–west trunk routes operated under dual brands, achieving balanced development of its global network in tandem with green, low-carbon and sustainable growth.
